Privacy Notice

Last updated October 26, 2026

This notice explains how KLMAH Law Office collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal data you give us on AttyHugo.com, in line with Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and its implementing rules. Our mentorship site, learn.AttyHugo.com, has its own privacy notice.

Who is responsible for your data

KLMAH Law Office is the personal information controller for this website. For any privacy question or request, contact our Data Protection Officer at hi@attyhugo.com.

What we collect

When you send an inquiry through the contact form, we collect:

  • your name and email address;
  • your mobile number, if you give it;
  • the area of law your concern relates to;
  • the names of other people or companies involved, if you give them;
  • your message;
  • a record that you agreed to this notice, and the date and time you sent the form.

Depending on your concern, your message may include sensitive personal information under the Data Privacy Act, such as details of a criminal complaint or case, your marital status, or your health. Please share only what is needed for a first reply. We process it only for the purposes below.

If you book a consultation through the scheduling link, Google collects the details you enter under its own privacy policy, and we receive your name, email address, and the time you chose.

We do not use tracking cookies or analytics on this website.

The pay calculator runs entirely in your browser. We do not receive or store anything you enter in it. If you switch its language, that choice is saved only on your own device.

Why we collect it

  • to read and reply to your inquiry;
  • to check for conflicts of interest before discussing your matter;
  • to schedule a consultation, if you ask for one.

If you later engage KLMAH Law Office, your information becomes part of your client file, and our engagement terms and professional duties as lawyers apply to it. We will not use your data for any other purpose without asking you first.

Our basis for processing

We process your data based on your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form. This includes your specific consent to the processing of any sensitive personal information you choose to share. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see below). Withdrawing does not affect processing we did before you withdrew.

Confidentiality

As lawyers, we keep information from people who contact us about legal services confidential, even if they do not become clients.

Who else handles your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website and our office, and only for the purposes above:

  • Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and stores contact form submissions. Its servers may be located outside the Philippines, including in the United States.
  • Google LLC provides our email, which we use to receive notifications of new inquiries and to reply to you, and the scheduling page for consultations. Its servers may be located outside the Philippines.
  • Google Fonts provides the fonts on this website. Your browser’s IP address is sent to Google when it loads them.

We may also disclose personal data when the law requires it.

How we protect it

Your data is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored in password-protected accounts that only we can access. We apply reasonable organizational, physical, and technical measures to protect it from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.

How long we keep it

If you do not engage KLMAH Law Office, we delete your form submission within six months. We may keep a brief record of your name, the names of the other parties, and the general nature of the matter for longer, only so we can check for conflicts of interest in the future.

If you engage us, your information is kept as part of your client file for as long as the law and our professional obligations require.

Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is processed;
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • object to processing, and withdraw your consent;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted or blocked;
  • receive a copy of your data in a commonly used electronic format (data portability);
  • be compensated for damages caused by unlawful processing;
  • file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).

How to make a request

Email hi@attyhugo.com from the address you used on the form. Say what you’d like us to do, for example “Delete my inquiry” or “Send me a copy of my data.” We will reply as soon as we can, and act on your request in line with the Data Privacy Act.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the data you already gave us, we will ask for your consent again.
